Heat wave.

Last week 80 degree temperatures allowed us to put on shorts and enjoy the local park.

On our way into the park, Rubi noticed a squirrel climbing a tree. She really liked the squirrel which she affectionately named mouse.

As always, we had a really great time and the park. Rubi even stopped and posed in a picture for her mother (gasp).

By the time we were heading home, Rubi was making this face. This is the face of a child who no longer wants her picture taken...it has taken me some time, but i've figured out when (according to her face) to put the camera away.

Easter

Easter morning Rubi told us she was ready for the "Easter tree". We explained the bunny didn't bring a tree but he did leave her some gifts in a basket.

After opening all of her gifts from the bunny at our house, Rubi headed to Grammy's house for the hunt.

This year, Rubi actually enjoyed looking around for eggs. Considering she was the only child involved in the hunt, she did really well.

(above) The first time Rubi's ever touched a hard boiled egg, which we told her contained chocolate.

Aunt Katye blew bubbles for Rubi for most the afternoon, which was a wonderful Easter present for us.

Somehow at the end of the day Dad and Rubi ended up in a creek throwing rocks, yes white tights and all IN A CREEK.

Happy Easter.

Rubi is not the biggest fan of getting her picture taken these days, and candid shots are almost impossible to get. Fortunately she still feels photogenic while taking a tub. When she's sixteen and asks why all of the framed photos in the living room are of her in the bathtub, I'll refer her to this post.

Visit.

We had the pleasure of spending part of our Sunday with Harrison.

Harrison really enjoyed spending time with Rubi, he thought she was very entertaining.

(I've never met such a photogenic child, SO JEALOUS)

tisk tisk tisk

Rubi jumping on the bed...cause it's cute.

more snow...

Friday morning we got around 11 inches of snow, so we took the day off and enjoyed what mother nature had to offer.

A side of Rubi that usually only her parents get to see...

SNOW BEARD.

Rubi lent a helping hand to her father, who then received a helping hand from our new favorite neighbor...the one with the snow blower.

Tasting the snow...

regretting that decision.

AHH SNOW!!

We got around 6 inches of snow today. Since this was the first (and most likely the last) big snow fall of the year, we definitely wanted to make the most out of the day. It took a little time to convince Rubi to go out and play...shocking, i know.

Rubi's cousins Tori and Tommy love the snow. We decided to take a trip to Aunt Tawnee's house to see if this would rub off on Rubi.

It started a little rocky....

After seeing all the fun Tori was having, Rubi decided to try again.

(Originally I was on the sled, Rubi quickly reminded me i was "TOO BIG"...over and over and over again.)

Once Rubi figured out she wasn't going to melt when the snow touched her, she let loose and had fun.

Our child is no longer scared of the white stuff. Next step sand and dirt...one thing at a time i suppose.
