silly Saturday

shortly after this video was taken Rubi took her first few steps. I'm not saying it was a very stable walk or even a deliberate walk... just ask Grandma & Grandpop who witnessed the whole thing.

A trip to Hillside.

We are lucky enough to live about 15 minutes from Hillside Farms. Hillside Farms is a little gem in northeastern pa. They sell everything from chocolate milk in glass containers to what we think is the best ice cream. This was Rubi's first visit to the farm...at this point Rubi loves crowds. She loves to be in the middle of all of the action...in fact whenever we go out to eat Rubi stares, smiles, and yells at the table sitting next to us until she is noticed. So we knew she would enjoy the farm.

Rubi flirted her way into licking all of our ice cream (obviously we can't resist that dimple and the piercing scream that comes from her tiny mouth).

I think even above the delicious ice cream...Rubi loved the animals. She stared at the horses and the donkeys and even began to yell back to them when we left.

(in these pictures Grandma is helping Mommy & Daddy by helping Rubi walk off her sugar shock)

typical after school time

She giggles with Dad...

She watches cartoons (for about 5 minutes)...

She rests on whatever soft surface feels good at the time...

and last but not least silly faces for Mom.

no one ever said she was shy

Rubi hamming it up for the camera.

Fathers Day

Rubi giving Dad his Fathers Day cards. When she gets a little older i have a feeling she might be just as reluctant to give him his breakfast in bed for Fathers Day.

Happy Fathers Day to one of the best Dads around!
<3 Rubi & Mom.

Fathers Day breakfast.

By the afternoon we ended up at Grandma's house to swim a bit.

Rubi & Aunt Tracey.

This is what i like to call "grandma's soup" (which includes...jello, puffs, cheddar cheese crackers, lemon cake, yogurt, and a granola bar).

sweet & sour

The whole family went over grandma and grandpop's house to have a little cookout.

Things were going great...Rubi was really enjoying her watermelon.

Rubi did not want to eat dinner....so grandma suggested pudding.
chocolate pudding...
with no bib...
feeding her self...for the first time
(i cringed but said ok)

Well we found out Rubi LOVED pudding....

and hated when i took it away.
the conclusion of this story is: Rubi can only eat chocolate pudding at Grandma's house...when mommy is at least one city away.

our little comedian

Rubi is constantly mocking us and trying to get us to smile....
needless to say we laugh a lot around our house.

ball ball ball ball

Rubi may not get the concept of baseball yet...but she knows her father is playing. She goes from repeating "da da da da da da" to "ball ball ball ball ball" over and over again throughout the entire game.

The first and only photographic evidence that Rubi enjoys the swing.
