No name McCann.

This is Rubi's new little brother Puppy McCann.

He seems to spend the majority of his time under our desk, out of Rubi's reach.

He does not have a name yet, Rubi seems to like MURP MURP (which sounds a lot like Murphy, Grandma's dog)...the next few weeks should be very interesting.

Artsy

When ever Rubi gets a chance to color, no matter the medium, she loves it. I think even at a very young age Rubi is expressing her artistic point of view.

This is Rubi's abstract version of her father...pretty close, i know!

Rubi volunteering to help Dad with his "project".

Fast Friends

Rubi has made a new friend with our next door neighbor Mathew. Every time Mathew is outside, Rubi will walk over to the fence and hang on every word he says...she even giggles at all of his jokes. All though there is a little bit of an age gap, we're happy there is another screaming toddler in the neighborhood...yes, happy.

Gabba In The City.

This past weekend we took a trip to NYC for a little concert, with a little group called Yo Gabba Gabba. Since this was Rubi's first trip to the big city, we tried to fit in as much of New York as possible in such a short period of time.

We explored Central Park.

Rubi experienced the subway for the first time.

I have to say, i think Rubi's least favorite experience in NYC had to be those FAO Schwarz guards. In fact, about 20 minutes later she wouldn't stop screaming "I WANT TO GO HOME".

(the subway no problem...but men in tall hats TAKE ME HOME!)

While we were in NYC we decided to take Rubi to the Children's Museum of Manhattan. It's a very child friendly, interactive museum. Rubi loved every floor, and as always stacked just about everything she could find.

Rubi's favorite part of the Children's Museum was definitely the water section. She didn't want to leave, she also played very well the other children, and even shared.

GASP

I know what you're thinking, they actually left that child alone in the middle of Times Square...truth is we only left her long enough to grab a hot dog and a nap (which Rubi was fine with, by the way).

Rubi, Dad, and Jeffrey.

Taking a little nap in Central Park before the big show. Who knew the soothing streets of NYC would put a child to sleep.

We underestimated the number of people who would be showing up for this free concert in Central Park. We waited in a line of about 300 people long...and Neil stood in a line for about 45 min. (no joke) for an ice cream for Rubi (yes, we will bring this all up when Rubi is 15 and screaming that we ruined her life).

Rubi was so in awh of this experience, that most of the time the characters were on stage, she just held out her hand and waved.

Brobee

Waving goodbye to Dj Lance Rock and Brobee.

We will definitely return to New York soon...it was a great trip (thanks to our tour guides Uncle Kyle and Aunt Alana).

Potty Training.

Rubi has been "training" for the past month or two. We are told she is doing exceptionally well at school (with scheduled potty breaks). Rubi has been doing so well on the potty that we started letting her wear big girl underwear. This is yet another milestone in her life, she's growing up so fast. We are proud of everything she does, but with potty training out of the way, i can't help but think what's next...boyfriends, make up, a drivers license?

eeek.
