Going into the Mansion at Knoebels

Going into the "haunted mansion"

Rubi really wanted to go on this ride, we stood in line for about a half hour, more than enough time to change a child's mind. She went in saying it's just pretend...and continued to say that throughout the ride.

This is Rubi coming out of the ride. I put my hands by her head just incase she wanted me to cover her eyes, on the way in. As soon as we entered the mansion she immediately pulled my hands over her eyes. She laughed a little on the ride, mostly she was just very quite, except for the occasional it's just pretend.

Knoebels!

This was Rubi's last ride of the day, it took a lot of convincing to let Rubi on this ride (mostly me convincing myself she wouldn't have a stroke at three on the flume). She seemed to enjoyed it in the end.

Family photo...

Rubi's first ride of the day was the kitty coaster, which even scared me a bit.

Neil and Rubi (on the second ride of the day) on a little more relaxing ride.

This trip to Knoebels was a first for both Rubi and Aunt Alana, I'd say they both enjoyed it equally.

After holding up her arms and saying WEEE all day, it was a hard habit to break, even on the train that went about 5 mph.

Neil made a promise to Rubi, that she wouldn't get wet just standing next to the ride...

after the wave Rubi went running and screaming into the crowd.

Daddy, Alana, and Kyle.

When we were leaving the park, Uncle kyle asked Rubi what her favorite part of the day was...

"Just being with all of my friends" was her response.

First "slumber party"...

This past weekend Rubi had her first friend/cousin sleepover. We started the night out with a trip to Grammy's house, which included fun in the sun and ICE-CREAM!

The night was a little rocky (not for Rubi's guest, mostly for Rubi) and in the morning the girls played dress up, the colored, they read to each other, and played doctor...

they were sure to include Neil with all the festivities.

Rubi's ballerina party

Rubi's third birthday party was a big success; and by success i mean, we didn't run out of food and Rubi was pleasant throughout most of the day.

We had her party at a local park (Rubi's favorite park). Rubi and her cousin Tori really benefited from this years location.

Spending quality time with Uncle Pat, Aunt Katye, and Mike.

Neil generously displaying Rubi's tu-tu.

Pat, Katye, and Mike putting together Rubi's bubble maker (if you recall Katye was previously Rubi's bubble maker).

Day 6 and 7.

Our last few days at the beach were spent mostly at the beach. We drove our bikes to the boardwalk and then to the local park.

I think we went to every park with in a 15 mile radius in VA Beach, at Rubi's request of course.

This year was hands down the best trip to VA Beach. Rubi seemed to appreciate everything a little more; whether it was the bridge we went over to get there, or the horses we drove past everyday going into to town, or the fact that we were so close to the water even in the rental house. Rubi seemed just as relaxed as her father and I the entire week.

I think she's already thinking of the swim suit she's going to bring next year...
